FBG

Sorry about the lack of updates but the internet reception in this town is sooooo slow that I can't even get pics posted. I guess everyone is just going to have to wait until I get back home to see the events of the week in TX.

A Town

Texas is not as I remembered it, well atleast in the Hill Country.

Mike was nice enough to let me crash at his pimp place, but I didn't have that much time to enjoy it do to the 24hr mtb race I did this weekend with him and a few other friends.

The race was at Rockyhill Ranch just outside of Austin, the name fits.
Kevin, me and Mike after the race.
The race was riddled with problems, mechanicals, flats, crashes, injuries, and both my lights going out part way through one of my night laps. The laps were 10.8 miles and I had to follow a guy for 8 miles through some pretty technical stuff, lets just say that it was my slowest lap. Even with all the problems we still finished, fourth.
But it is over.....for another year. Yes I am crazy. I'm off to FBG this afternoon so just enjoying a local Austin coffee shop. Hope all is well with everyone else out there. Late.

TX Time

I'm off to Tejas early, and I do mean early, in the morning. I'll be in A-town till Monday then the FBG till Saturday. For those in the area, give me a ring. I'll probably just be catching up on times with friends and the folks and spending some quality time on the bike. I'll try to keep some updates flowing.

Boulder Snow

The first snow of the year finally hit and this was the aftermath this morning.
This is why I love it here. It will snow for a day or two, and then its sunny and clear and all the snow is gone by the end of the day. You get the best off all worlds. Tomorrow I will get to hit the bike outside and away from the trainer and then pack for TX.

Lexie and I went to the new Denver Art Museum today and would have to recommend it to everyone.

Road Trip Wrap Up

Okay, so I'm back now from a week of sitting on my ass and eating crap and not working out, but it was all worth it. We headed out last Monday hitting the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, various places in Montana, then Rushmore and heading on back. It took seven days but should have taken longer if we were to actually stop and enjoy each place to its fullest. There were tons of pics but here are a few that stood out.

In Virginia City, MT the Sheriff is either blessed with a bad last name or is running for two different jobs at once. The drive got boring from time to time, but the game of "Who can fit the most gold fish crackers in their mouth at once" kept us occupied for a while, this is Lexie trying for 21. I think it will be a very long time before I eat gold fish crackers again.

Here's Old Faithful, the other tourists were very excited to see the geiser go off, but it seemed like the buffalo had seen it before.

I am kind of curious after seeing this sign if some little kids have actually stood on top of a geiser before, I wonder what would happen?

Mt. Rushmore
We decided to stop at Jewel Cave in the Black Forest to do some underground scenic sight seeing. This box was outside and its the requirement for the sperlunking tour to fit though it. It was 8inches by 24inches, I even had a hard time fitting through it.

Well those are just a few of the pics. I'm a little tired now after trying to get back into riding today with a five hr march in the mountains. I'll be heading for TX on Friday for a week, so those of you down that way maybe I'll run across you.

I haven't been able to find a place that will let me upload pics, so everyone will just have to wait until after I get back. But the trip is awesome with a few more stops left. Later, B

Road Trip Day One

Well I have pics of the first day on the trip but the hotel won't let me upload them so you'll just have to wait. Yesterday the weather was a little bad. Some snow and rain, but today is sunny and clear. Right now we are in Rock Springs, WY but are getting ready to hit the road for Jackson, WY by noon and do some hiking in the Tetons. Check back for the pics.

About Time

Its time for the what seems to be weekly update. After getting back form interbike I've been taking it easy, not like I've ever done anything other than that. This weekend Lexie and I headed up to Rocky Mtn National Park for some hiking. Its beautiful around here know with the leaves changing.
The park is a must see for everyone, great views and awesome trails for hiking.
Other than that not much else. Still on the bike daily but only to occasional hard day. I plan on taking off competely next week and going with Lexie on a road trip up to Montana and try and see some of my family up there and just hit some of the parks and enjoy fall. I'll try and be better the updates.
